Biography
Ms. Felicia P.N. Dlamini-Kunene is the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Eswatini, a position she has held since July 2019. Prior to her appointment, she held the positions of Senior Advisor to the Executive Director at the African Development Bank and Senior Advisor to the Executive Director at the IMF, Africa Group 1 Constituency. As part of her work experience, she served as Advisor to the Ministry of Finance (Eswatini) and worked at the Central Bank of Eswatini in the Economic Policy Research and Statistics department from 1997 to 2011 where she climbed the ladder and rose from the ranks of Research Assistant to Senior Economist. Between 2008 and 2010 she was seconded to the World Bank and IMF. Ms. Dlamini holds a Master of Arts in Development Economics obtained from Williams College in June 2003, and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science with majors in Economics and Demography from the then University of Swaziland in September 1996. She complemented the Leadership and Diversity Program for Regulators, collaborated between Women's World Banking and the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, with the 2021 Cohort. Ms. Dlamini is a voting member of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion's (AFI) Gender Inclusive Finance Committee. She has chaired the Swaziland Tourism Satellite Account Committee (October 2009-2010), co-chaired the IMF Staff Monitored Programme Technical Committee (2010), was Secretary for the Central Bank Staff Association (2009-April 2011), and a member of the SADC Macroeconomic Sub-Committee (2005-2007). She is currently serving as the Chair of the Financial Stability Technical Committee, the Chair of the State-Owned Enterprises Reforms Task Team, the Chair of the Gender Inclusive Finance Technical Working Group, and the Co-chair of the Cash Flow Committee. She is also a Board Member at Eswatini Economic Policy Analysis and Research.
