- Ms. Sadie Dixon is Bank Secretary with the Central Bank of Barbados. She is an Attorney-at-Law who holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of the West Indies, a Certificate in Legal Education from the Hugh Wooding Law School and a Masters of Law with Distinction from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom. Sadie also holds a certificate in Legislative Drafting from the University of London’s Institute of Advanced Legal Studies. She is currently pursuing a second Masters from the University of Warwick in Central Banking and Financial Regulation. Sadie is an experienced legal professional with over twenty-nine years' call to Bars of Barbados and the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States. She has demonstrated expertise in financial, monetary, and banking matters, legal drafting, civil law and probate law and practice. Sadie is passionate about the international financial services sector and learnt valuable lessons about the sector from her experience as a young student with the renowned firm of Harney, Westwood and Riegels in the British Virgin Islands where she interned whilst at Law School. She worked with former Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados Dr. DeLisle Worrell on the Barbados International Business and International Financial Services Compendium project. Sadie is a member of the Financial Stability Cross Border Payments and Identifiers Working Group which continues its early work on loss of correspondent banking relations and she co-authored a Central Bank of Barbados’ Working Paper entitled “De-risking in the Caribbean: The Unintended Consequences of International Financial Reform”. Sadie is a “cradle” Anglican and now serves as the Chancellor of the Anglican Diocese of Barbados.
