- Dr. Wassim Manssouri was initially appointed as the First Vice-Governor of Banque Du Liban on June 10, 2020. He later assumed the role of Acting Governor on August 1, 2023. In this capacity, he oversees the Central Bank and chairs the Central Council, the Higher Banking Commission, the Special Investigation Committee, and the Capital Markets Authority. Dr. Manssouri is a member of the Board of Governors at the International Monetary Fund and the Arab Monetary Fund. His legal expertise is highlighted by his background as an Attorney at law and founder of Manssouri & Associates Law Firm. Dr. Manssouri has an extensive history of involvement in international organizations, legal committees, and academia. He is also the president of the Lebanese Association of Constitutionalists and an accomplished author in fields like law, constitution, legislation, political science, and economics. Dr. Manssouri holds a PhD in Public Law from Montpellier University and a PhD from the State of Lebanon from the Lebanese University, earning the title of Professor of Law in 2010.
