Biography

Mothetsi is a business professional with a versatile skill set developed through experience in central banking. His career started in private sector focussing on software development, telecommunication and building & maintaining corporate business client relationships. This was succeeded by central banking, concentrating on digitisation of supervisory and prudential systems, replacement of core banking & financial systems, national & regional payment systems. Mothetsi has background in financial regulatory oversight. This includes the formulation, development and implementation of policy and regulatory positions relating to payment systems infrastructure. His key interests include financial inclusion of marginalised groups, including women and youth. Mothetsi currently serve on forums such as SADC Committee of Central Bank Governors’ (CCBG) Payment System Oversight Committee (PSOC), Common Monetary Area (CMA) Cross border Payment Oversight Committee (CPOC) and Association of African Central Banks’ (AACB) Payment System Integration Working Group (PSIWG) Task Force.
